The past 4 years have been a whirlwind of learning and one I have absolutely enjoyed! Our staff are second to none and were instrumental in assisting with my journey sitting on council.
Our council this term worked well together to handle the business of the municipality. They were professional and prepared and it was a pleasure working with them.
My passion for my community and working day in day out in the interest of my constituents was/is the highlight hands down!
One of the many takeaways and observations from the last 4 years, is that our municipality is 1 of 444 in the province who are competing for funding and we need strong representation to ensure our municipality receives fair and equitable compensation from both our county and the province.
In the role of Deputy Mayor, I will ensure our municipality is strongly represented when dealing with the province. It will afford me the opportunity to sit on County Council to ensure that the 43% of our tax dollars are being handled responsibly and we are receiving adequate compensation.
It will also provide me the opportunity to forecast provincial policies that put financial strains on our municipality and take measures to mitigate these pressures.
I believe I am just getting started. I have the energy, passion and love for our municipality and its residents. This is my main driving force!
